Appearance and Construction of Faux Rock Designs
People are always asking us how we manage to produce fake rocks that look so close to those found in the wild. It begins with creating a mold from real rocks, trees, crevice walls, etc. Many of the molds we use today come from Australia as well as West Texas. Once the mold is in place, we begin the process of creating identical replicas. This involves the use of polyurea and polyurethane materials; compounds that result in finished products that are incredibly strong, yet surprisingly light and easy to move. To ensure a completely naturalist appearance, we color the rock castes with sand and other real rock materials.
