Frequently Asked Questions
Rock solid answers
Our panels weigh between 50 and 150 lbs depending on the specific size and style, which is still a fraction of the weight of real stone masonry. While you don't need heavy-duty structural reinforcement to handle the load, the panels are flexible, so they absolutely require a solid backing surface—like standard drywall or plywood—to mount them securely.
Yes, but with one important rule! For commercial projects or strict municipal codes, we can manufacture your panels with a Class A Fire Rating upon request. However, if you are using them for a fireplace surround, the panels cannot come in direct contact with anything that reaches 200°F or higher, as the polymer material will begin to melt.
Absolutely. We highly recommend ordering a sample box so you can evaluate the material thickness, texture depth, and hand-painted coloration in your own lighting. Even better, the cost of your sample box is credited directly back to you when you place your full panel order!
To make transport easier and keep shipping costs manageable, many of our flexible panels ship tightly rolled. Depending on the size of your order, they will arrive either rolled inside a box or rolled securely on a freight pallet. This flexibility makes them incredibly easy to maneuver through standard doorways, halls, and elevators compared to rigid sheets.
If your panels arrive rolled, they may need a little time to relax depending on the style and the time of year. Simply unroll them and lay them flat on a driveway or deck in direct, warm sunlight. The ambient solar heat will naturally relax the polymer memory, allowing the sheet to flatten out smoothly before you mount it.
You can leave the messy wet tile saws and heavy masonry tools at home. Our panels can be easily modified and trimmed on-site using a standard, sharp utility knife, an oscillating multi-tool, or a basic circular saw.
Installation takes hours, not days. You can mechanically fasten the panels directly to your solid wall backing using standard exterior deck screws or heavy-duty staples. To create a continuous wall, most of our panels are simply overlapped and seamed together.
If properly installed, the deeply molded organic rock and wood textures naturally help disguise overlaps. For any visible screw heads and overlapping seams, taking your time with our matching Touch-Up Kits is the key to a flawless finish. By applying the exact same colored crushed rock and sand pigments used in our factory, you can effectively camouflage the hardware and blend your seams right into the texture.
